Custom POS and tailoring management dashboard built by Digitorium for a clothing store
Case study · Custom software · Retail and tailoring

Three metres of shirting and a sherwani.

Custom POS software for a clothing store that does two jobs at once: fabric sold by the metre, and garments stitched to measurement.

What it handles

Two businesses, one counter, one system

  • Fabric by the metre with pana and rate
  • Stitched garments with measurements
  • Trial and delivery tracking
  • Outstanding payments per bill
  • Low stock alerts
  • Bill sent on WhatsApp
  • Role based staff access
The problem

No POS on earth knows what a pana is.

Classic Exclusive is two businesses in one shop. It sells raw fabric by the metre, and it stitches custom garments to measurement. One customer might walk out with three metres of shirting and an order for a sherwani on the same bill.

Standard systems cannot hold that. Retail software handles products with fixed prices. Service software handles appointments. Neither stores a customer's measurements, and neither can follow a garment through cutting, stitching, trial and delivery.

So the shop ran on paper. Measurements in a register, orders on slips, bills written by hand. Simple questions took digging. How much did we sell today. Which orders are pending trial. What does this customer owe. Are we running low on anything.

What we built

Custom POS software built for a clothing store counter

Billing that fits the counter

One bill takes fabric line items with fabric number, purpose, pana, metres and rate, alongside stitched garments. Discount by rupee or percent, cash or other modes, paid or outstanding tracked per bill. Save, print and send on WhatsApp in one action.

Customers who never repeat themselves

Contact, order history and total spent on every customer. Measurements stored once, so a returning customer is never measured twice. Search by name or mobile straight from the billing screen.

The tailoring pipeline, tracked

Stitching, job cards, labour assignment, trial and ready for delivery. Every stage visible, nothing sitting forgotten on a slip.

Inventory that warns you early

Products, stock levels and suppliers, with low stock alerts before you run out in the middle of a sale.

A team, not just an owner

Multiple users with role based access, employee management and separate portal users, so staff can bill without seeing the accounts.

One screen that answers everything

Today's sales, pending tailoring with trials due, deliveries ready for pickup, low stock alerts, six month revenue, orders by status and this week's new orders. Accounts reports underneath.

Screens from the live system. Every customer name, mobile number and figure is replaced or blurred before publishing, with the client's written permission.

The outcome

One screen instead of four registers.

Sales, pending work, deliveries and stock are on the dashboard instead of spread across registers and memory.

Follow ups that used to be impossible are now obvious. Who has a trial this week, which bills are still outstanding, what this customer ordered last time.

Questions people ask

Custom POS questions

Can you build a POS for a shop that sells fabric and also stitches?

Yes, that is exactly what this is. Fabric line items in metres and stitched garments with measurements sit on the same bill, and the tailoring order carries on after the bill is paid.

Why not just use a ready made billing app?

Ready made apps are cheaper and faster if your shop fits them. When you need measurements, pana, trials and job cards, you end up keeping a register beside the software anyway, which is the problem you were solving.

Can staff use it without seeing the accounts?

Yes. Access is role based, so a counter user can bill and look up customers while revenue and accounts reports stay with the owner.
